Below are some services I provide and definitions that you may find of value:
- Home Page
- Your Home Page is the main page on your Web site. It usually is the first page to appear when someone
visits your website. Your Web site's home page is typically named index.htm, but may have another name such as default.html. It is typically 400 to 500 words
with 4 to 5 images.
Home pages take longer to create because they also include the design of the site's overall theme, its navigation and the cascading stylesheet.
- Domain Name
- A Domain Name is an organization, business or personal website name on the Internet such as:
IBM.com or WintersOnline.net or GoodWill.org or MySite.biz.
Registering your Domain name is a separate fee and costs about $12 a year.
Your full Domain Name is your Web address, such as http://wintersonline.net
- Hosting
- A Hosting Company owns Web Servers and will host or allow individuals to store their web pages on the company web servers for a fee, usually $4.00 or $5.00 a month.
This allows your site to be available worldwide and up 24/7.
Typically, you pay less per month, if you purchase a year or two years of hosting up front.
GoDaddy.com is an example of a company that will register your domain name, give you an email account associated with your domain name, and host your website.
Note1: A Web Server is a combination of hardware (computers and storage devices) and software used to store and deliver web content that can be accessed online.
Note2: Hosting is a separate fee. It is not part of the cost of designing a website.
- A Navigation Bar is Vertical or Horizontal menu, as shown in blue on top and on left of this page.
It might display links for Home | Products | About Us | Contact Us
- Cascading Stylesheet:
- A Cascading Stylesheet is a separate page that controls the colors, fonts, and layout for an entire website.
Cascading Stylesheets give websites a consistent look and feel. This efficiently keeps each web page in the same style. It is important that you hire a person who
is good at building cascading stylesheets.
For instance, click the Sunfish Theme to see this page in a different style, with different colors, fonts, a sailboat cursor, and the colorful sunfish sailboats on the sides (sailboats may not show on mobile devices) -- and these are just a few modest style changes.
Click Peaceful Blue Theme to return to the original theme.
- Validated

Valid code is up-to-date, written with current
and widely recognized standards, works consistently on all modern
browsers, and on displays consistently on PCs, laptops, tables,
and mobile devices.
Validation also refers to the process of making sure that data is correctly entered. For example, a person filling out a contact page should be required to enter their name, and the email address should be valid and contain an @ symbol.

- Optimization
- Optimization is a process where images and file sizes are adjusted to allow your website to load as quickly and smoothly as possible, while still
providing good quality images.
Additionally, sites are also optimized to allow search engines to find and rank them as high as possible.
Bradenton Website Design produces optimized Web pages which are efficiently created with current HTML5 and CSS3 standards, and developed with integrated search engine optimization.
- Search Engine Optimization:
- Search Engine Optimization or SEO is the
process of developing a website so it can be easily found by
search engines when doing a search for key words and phrases
relevant to that site. It is important that you hire a person who
is good at SEO and does not charge you excessive fees.
Bradenton Website Design will carefully code and organize the websites that we create with the goal of getting them to be highly ranked when doing an appropriate web search. We carefully build SEO in to the code and design Organic Search Engine Optimization that does not rely on paid advertising. And SEO is included -- for free -- in our price.
Note: Because of the way search engines (such as Google or Bing) rank websites, it may take several months for a web site to move from page 6 or 7 to page 1 or 2.

There is also Search Engine Marketing (SEM) which is often based on pay per click and other paid marketing, such as Google Adwords campaigns or the option to Promote Page (paid ads) for a Facebook business page. SEM can bring quicker results, but at a price. SEO is Free Traffic and SEM is Paid Traffic. SEO takes longer (4 to 6 weeks) to settle in.
Bradenton Website Design can run an Adwords campaign for you, or Promote Page ads, but then you will be paying both per click or for ads and also for our services as we set up the campaign and spend the time analyzing the results – this can take hours and cost a significant amount of money per month to set up and run.
- Social Media Marketing
- Social Media Marketing uses applications such as Facebook,
LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, WordPress and other
online social networking services. Linking to your social media is another service that I can integrate into your Website at a modest cost.
Social Media Marketing can effectively increase your presence on the web.
